Lawrence Bornman

d. June 26, 2021

Lawrence “Larry” Irvin Bornman passed away at Methodist Mansfield Hospital on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the age of 78. Larry was born September 15, 1942 to Helen and Irvin Bornman. Larry served his country in the Air Force from 1959 – 1964. After serving in the Air Force, he traveled around the country and finally landed in Texas. He owned and operated his own business, LA Telecommunications. His company helped serve the phone industry throughout the DFW area. Later, he found himself involved in the school activities of his two younger children, Kenny and Tanya. He worked tirelessly with the Venus High School Band Boosters. He orchestrated many fundraisers, attended a lot of football and basketball games all to help support the band, and more importantly, his kids. Additionally, he worked as a substitute teacher at Venus High School where he was known as “Mr. Hibdon” because of Kenny and Tanya’s last name. He loved his babies, which is what he called his dogs. They meant the world to him. He took them for car rides, walks, and they loved nap time with their “dad.” Larry was also involved in his church. He served as Head Usher for many years. He loved the opportunity to serve in his church, and more importantly, his Lord. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Irvin Bornman, and brother Wesley Bornman. Survivors include his two sisters, brother, wife Rebecca L. Bornman of Venus Texas, son Troy Bornman of Oklahoma, daughter Amy Weber of Ohio, son Kenny Hibdon and his wife Susan of Burleson, Texas, and daughter Tanya Thomas and her husband, David, of Venus, Texas. Grandchildren include Joshua, Dustin, Tyler, Kaleb, Amanda, Allyson, Kolton, Brittne, Nathan, and Emily. Great-grandchildren include Corbin, Connor, Norah, and Graham. Larry didn’t live a perfect life, but he did live one that showed love to his God, family, and friends. He will be missed but not forgotten.
