A memorial service for Lewis Clayton Mears. 68, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at The Refuge Church in Cleburne followed by burial of the ashes at Brazos Point Cemetery, in Bosque County. Service will be officiated by Bishop Phillip E. Hudson and Pastor Brandon Knight of Calvary UPC Denton, Texas. Lewis passed away on the family property in Cleburne in 2023. He was born November 11, 1955 in Cleburne to Lewis Junior Mears, and Willie Mae Newsom Mears. He worked as a welder most his life. He loved walking, raising game chicken, fishing and spending time outdoors. Survivors include his children, son, Justin Mears, daughter, Ashley Bowling and Gary, daughter, Crystal Moore and Dustin, son, Junior Mears and Lindsay Payne, son, Colten Mears-Anderson; grandchildren, Drew, Logan, Raylee, Lucy, Will, Jade and Layton; brother, Steve Mears; sisters, Debbie Hudson, Shirley Neugent and Linda Hirst; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Christin Gail Mears; his parents and three brothers, Ricky Dale Mears, Johnny Lee Mears and Timothy Wayne Mears. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of his caregivers and sweet people who knew or helped him throughout his time here on Earth. The Refuge Church 3219 N.
