August 2nd, 2023 – Linda Solberg died after a hard-fought battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born December 7th, 1949 in Denver, CO. She is survived by her husband Ken Solberg, her daughter Laura Davis, and two granddaughters Madison and Avery. During her childhood, Linda moved around to several different states with her family due to her father’s engineering career. She spent her middle school years in Portland, OR and her high school years in Bellevue, WA where she formed strong bonds with friends. After graduating college at Washington State University, she and her husband settled down in Castle Rock, WA to start a family and had their only child, Laura. Linda was an active member of the community. She worked for nearly 30 years in the Castle Rock School District, serving as an elementary school counselor known as the Friendship Lady, leader of the Middle School Knowledge-Bowl team, and ended her career as the Middle School and then High School Librarian. She also chaperoned several trips of school kids to Washington DC and France. Church was also a very important aspect of Linda’s life and she served in many different ways throughout her 40-year membership at St. Paul Lutheran, including Sunday School teacher, Confirmation teacher, and on the Church Council. Shortly after the birth of both their granddaughters, Ken and Linda decided to spend more time near their daughter’s family in Fort Worth Texas, which involved buying a home there. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Castle Rock, WA on Saturday March 9th 2024 at 1:00pm Condolences for the family may be offered on her online obituary at or sent directly to the family.
