Logan Horn was called home to Glory on June 24, 2010. He was blessed with a beautiful life of 87 years. Not every road he traveled was an easy one, but he trusted in his heavenly Father to see him through. Born in Salem Fl. March 18, 1923, he grew up in Tifton GA and moved to Miami FL after serving in the Navy during WWII. There he met and married Gladys Hierholzer from Laird Hill TX, his beloved wife of 62 years, and raised 2 daughters. He was the manager of A&P Grocery stores for over 20 years. Logan was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Miami for 27 years, serving on the board as Secretary and Treasurer and as the Choir Director. He had a beautiful Baritone voice and sang in church right to the very end before passing. Later in life he and his wife moved to Kilgore, Tx.  He worked and retired from Kilgore College in both the Security and Purchasing Departments. During these years he attended First Pentecostal Church and was a blessing in the music department. Logan Horne was one of the kindest, gentlest, thoughtful, intelligent, gifted and friendly people you could ever meet. He was a true Christian, firm in his beliefs and opinions, dignified and reserved. Truly a prince of a man, Known to his family as a loving husband, father and Big Daddy. Preceding him in death, a son Lynn Douglas Horne. He leaves behind a grieving wife, Gladys, daughters, Janet and Annette. Son in laws, Mike Ward and Randy Alexander. Grandchildren Craig and Genny Ward, Keesha and Tim Peacock. Ssgt, Ryan Alexander and fiance’ Keely Rodrique, Rachel and Gary Lindsey. Six great grandchildren, Timothy, Candace, Rachel,  Rose, Julia and Christy. Cousins, nieces and nephews. Many friends and church family all over the United States will be saddened to know he has departed this life and will miss him also. Earth’s loss, Heaven’s gain. Mr Horns service took place on Saturday June 26, 2010 at the Holiness Church of Christ in Alvarado, Tx. His interment will take place at 10:30 A.M  Tuesday June 29, 2010 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
