Lori Eileen Curtis Pomroy, born May 11, 1961, at Ramstein Air Force Base in Landstuhl, Germany, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Arlington, Texas.
Lori’s life was marked by extraordinary strength, deep love, and an unwavering spirit. She grew up surrounded by music, taught by her mother to play the piano— a gift she later passed on to her son, Charlie, who continues her legacy as a musician. Nothing made Lori prouder than seeing him carry forward her passion for music. Lori attended Austin Community College from 1980–1982, later studying at Texas A&M and completing Court Reporting School in 1989.
In 1984, she met the love of her life, Denny, while he was playing in a band at a bar called The Rebels. Their connection was immediate and lasting. In 1989, while pregnant with Charlie, Lori suffered a rare brain aneurysm that left her paralyzed from the neck down. When doctors urged her to terminate her pregnancy to improve her chances of survival, she firmly refused, declaring, “Absolutely not! We’ll both survive with God’s help.” Through incredible determination, months of rehabilitation, and the support of her family, she regained most of her movement, her bright mind, and her clear, gentle voice.
One of the happiest seasons of Lori’s life was the time she, Denny, and Charlie spent living in a small mountain town in Italy, renting a villa and savoring a quiet, joyful life together. She spoke of those years often and with great fondness. Lori loved gardening and took pride in showing off her plants. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, relaxing by the pool, and doting on her beloved little dogs. She also had an impeccable sense of style—always fashionable, always uniquely Lori.
Above all, she treasured her family, especially her son Charlie, and her grandchildren, Lennon Micah Pomroy and Levi Curtis Pomroy. Lori was preceded in death by her parents, who passed away earlier this year. She is survived by her son, Charlie Pomroy, his wife Justine, her grandchildren, Lennon and Levi, and her brother, Tom Curtis, and his wife Jeanette. She spent much of her adult life between Temple and Arlington, Texas.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held after the holiday season. The family will share details at a later date.
