Louis Edward Brizzolara, Jr.

January 9, 1935 — February 19, 2026

Dallas, Texas

Louis Edward (Ed) Brizzolara, Jr. died in Dallas, Texas on February 19, 2026 at the age of 91. Ed was born in Inglewood, California on January 9, 1935.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carolyn (“Lynne”) Ohmstede Brizzolara, his parents, Louis Edward Brizzolara and Virginia Johnson Brizzolara, his two brothers, Dick & Don, and his grandson, Jordan Hahn. Ed is survived by his three children and their spouses, Ted Brizzolara (Kate Hopkins), Tony Brizzolara (Sally) and Luisa Brizzolara Hahn (Marty), and three grandchildren, Scott Brizzolara, Carol Brizzolara and Travis Hahn.

Ed spent most of his childhood in Inglewood, California, where his father owned several hardware stores. After graduating from Loyola High School in Los Angeles, Ed attended the University of Southern California for several semesters (where he would admit that he perhaps enjoyed fraternity life more than his studies). Ed was an avid Trojan football fan throughout his life. USC also held special memories for Ed, as it is where Ed and his wife, Lynne, began dating. They married In 1954 and were married for 54 years before Lynne’s death in 2008.

After leaving USC, Ed joined the United States Army and served for several years as an ordinance specialist, stationed at the Aberdeen Maryland Proving Grounds. Ed then embarked upon a life in sales, first at the Brizzolara Hardware Store, then at Dewalt and Black & Decker Power Tools and later at other businesses. Ed’s sales career took the family on many moves across the United States. Towards the end of his career, Ed and Lynne settled in Roanoke, Virginia, where they enjoyed being close to Luisa’s family and watching their grandsons, Travis and Jordan, grow up. In 2015, Ed moved to Dallas, Texas. Ed enjoyed being back in a city where he had lived and worked several times during his career.

At Ed’s request, there will be no services. For those who wish to make a donation in Ed’s memory, please consider Loyola High School in Los Angeles (or a Jesuit high school near you), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
