Loyd “Don” Donavan Fletcher

A celebration of life for Loyd “Don” Fletcher 34 of the Dallas area. will be held on May 21, 2015 at 2 pm, at the Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson, Texas. Don was born on October 16, 1980, To Lowell Douglas Fletcher and Sherry Shaver. The Lord called him to his house on May 13, 2015.   Don grew up in Texas from the age of 9 months. Don was currently attending Tarrant County College to become a Middle School Teacher. Don enjoyed video gaming, boating, fishing, and camping. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family as much as possible.   In 1999, Don joined the Army where he served for 15 years as an Army Supply Sergeant. He did one tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan. Don was an outstanding soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer. Don always gave 150 percent to “Mission accomplishment” and taking care of the soldiers. While on active duty Don received Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Navy and Marie Corp Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star. In 2014 Don left the service and joined the 300th Special Troops Brigade of the Army Reserve. There Don continued his excellence always “Getting the Job Done” and always taking care of the Soldiers.   Don is survived by his father Lowell Douglas Fletcher Jr. and his step mother Kathy Fletcher of Temecula California, Two brothers Lowell Douglas Fletcher III of Oklahoma City Oklahoma and Charles Fletcher of Frisco, Texas. Wife Heidi (Terhune) Fletcher, of Copperas Cove Texas 4 daughters Kitiara, Angellina, Izabella, and Lilianna, and his two step children Caleb and Kiarra.
