M.C. Sullivan

Arlington, TX- M.C. Sullivan, 96, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was born October 23, 1925 in Holdenville, OK, the third son of Lonidas and Beatrice (Baker) Sullivan. Upon graduating from San Antonio Tech High School, in 1943, M.C. was drafted into the Navy. He served 2 years 2 months aboard the Haskell-class attack transport USS Barnwell with 17 months of that service in the Philippines as a radio operator during World War II. In 1957, M.C. married his sweetheart, Peggy Connally and settled in San Antonio before moving his family, many years later, to Arlington. He was a beloved father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His children could always count on him to provide help with English homework in school and sound advice in other aspects of life as challenges came along. M.C. was a talented, self-taught pen & ink artist and enjoyed political discussions. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leon and Neal, and grand daughter, Terri Sullivan. Surviving in addition to his wife, Peggy (Connally) Sullivan are his sons, David B and his wife, Tracy, of San Antonio, Matthew C of Arlington; daughter, Kelly Taylor and her husband Stephen of Spring; 3 grandchildren, William Jackson, Blake Jackson, Shelby Kling and her husband Michael; 2 great-grandchildren, Kennedy Kling, Ellis Kling; several nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be announced at a later date.
