Mabelanne Mcdowell (Tracy)

Glenrose – Mabelanne McDowell (Tracy) 76, passed away on June 22, 2015. Tracy was raised in Tallahassee, Florida where she attended Leon High School and FSU and then graduated from Abilene Christian University in Abilene,TX in 1964 with a degree in education. History was her passion and it showed in the classroom! She taught school for many years in Harligen,TX. Late in life she married the love of her life, JT and they were married until his death in 1995. Tracy enjoyed reading, old movies, and good mexican food! She and JT moved to Walnut Springs, TX where she continued to live until her poor health took her to Glenrose Dementia Unit.  Tracy is preceded in death by her husband JT McDowell, and parents Kermit and Margaret Farris. Tracy is survived by her daughter Kelly Devota Silander (Peter) and son Corey Dean Hargrove (Linda). Grandchildren: Denver Daughtry , Brooklyn Hargrove, Corey Hargrove, Mason Silander and Billye Silander.  The family wishes to thank the wonderful healthcare workers and hospice staff for their exceptional love and care their mom received over the last 11 months.
