Madeline Vary

Burleson, TX – Madeline Vary, nee DeGroat, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 in Burleson, Texas. Madeline was born in Saddle River, New Jersey on August 31, 1932. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen McGinnes, her grandchildren, Brandie and Candie, and her great-grandchildren, Becca and Izzy. Madeline was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Burleson and the Burleson Senior Center where she enjoyed many hobbies, including quilting, jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and keeping them all in line. A celebration of her life and a scattering of her ashes will take place at a later date in Galveston, Texas, where she enjoyed spending time at the ocean. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PacMin program that provides food and materials to school age children in the community (pacmin@fumcburleson.org).
