Margaret Bazata

Margaret Bazata, 74, of Arlington, TX passed away on October 30, 2023. Margaret was born on August 23, 1949, to Theodore & Eleanor (Kreikemeier) Vering in Columbus, NE. She grew up in the Howells area and attended Howells High School. After graduation in 1967, Margaret worked various jobs in Lincoln and Norfolk. In 1972, Margaret married Melvan Bazata and they made their home in Fremont, NE. While settling in Fremont, Margaret worked for Campbells Soup until 1990 and Midland College until she retired in 2007. Margaret enjoyed retirement spending time with her family and friends. Anyone who knew her always knew she enjoyed a good laugh or two. Margaret loved her grandchildren deeply and would do anything she could for them. After seeing one grandchild grow into adulthood Margaret moved to Texas in 2013 to be with her two youngest grandchildren. This opportunity allowed her to be there for concerts, ballets and school activities. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Melvan Bazata, her parents, sister, Rose Marie Tichota, brother, Reynold Vering, two brothers-in-law, and nephew. She is survived by daughters; Melanie Krieger (Jeff), Denise Stumpe (Myron) and Robin Summerville (Battle), grandchildren; Jeffrey Stumpe, Theodore Krieger, Isabella Krieger; sisters, Agnes Bazata, Valeria Oligmueller (Ken), Dorothy Gansebom (Rick); brother, Gerald Vering (Bonnie); sister-in-law Rose Marie Vering. Pertaining to Margaret’s wishes, she will be cremated.
