Martha Rambo McQuerns, beloved wife, mother and grandmother (Mimi) died January 26, 2026 of natural causes. She was 88. Martha was born March 25, 1937, to Frances and Benjamin Pratt Rambo in Sharon, South Carolina. She attended Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth while her father was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base finishing at Greenwood High School in Greenwood, South Carolina. After graduation, she attended Winthrop College.
Martha married Sam McQuerns whom she had known since second grade. They had three children Lee McQuerns, Dana McQuerns Parnell and Kelly McQuerns. She had one grandson, Sean Parnell. Besides being a mom, she worked for Westcliff United Methodist Church, Arlington ISD in the Special Education department, Lullaby Lane and Hallmark. They moved to Canada and Alabama, but returned to Texas to be closer to family. Martha was an active church member and served on church committees, Methodist Youth Fellowship, Wesley Foundation and in the Women’s Society of Christian Service at Westcliff United Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist (Arlington) and Arborlawn United Methodist. Moreover, having received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she illustrated with her life, a servant's heart to her family and friends. She was tiny, but mighty with a quick wit, endless energy and a positive outlook on life.
Martha is survived by her son Lee and his wife Ouida, daughters Dana and Kelly and Dana’s son Sean, her sister Ann McCaskill along with nephews David and his wife Jill McCaskill, Scott and his wife Denise McCaskill, Russell and his wife Karen McCaskill and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Sam, her parents and Dana’s husband James. Honorary Pallbearers: Lee McQuerns, Sean Parnell, David McCaskill, Scott McCaskill, Russell McCaskill, Moe Gregory and Ted Zeigler. Martha cared deeply for her family and friends. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept The Faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 in the afternoon on Friday, February 20, 2026 in the chapel of Doxology Bible Church, 4805 Arborlawn Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76109. Interment will be held at a future date in Greenwood, South Carolina. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be given to CurePSP, Mission Arlington or a charity of choice.
