Mary Frances Davis

d. March 2, 2018

On March 2, 2018, Mary Davis went to hunt deer in a different pasture with the Lord. Mary was born December 3, 1929 in San Saba County Texas to George Barrom and Thelma Yarbrough. Mary is survived by son James and wife Mary of Houston, son Randy and wife Jeanette of Ft. Worth, son Paul of Burleson, daughter Mary Lou Keating and husband Jerry of Alvarado, and Donald David Genz of Germany. She also has 3 surviving siblings June Davis of Alvarado, TX, Martha Tancre of Arkansas, and Nat Yarbrough of Tennessee. Mary has 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 Great-great- grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as Momma D by all her children’s friends and was treated as an extended member of their family. In other words, she was very much loved by family AND friends. When Mary retired from nursing she decided she wanted to experience a little more excitement because “life waits on no one!” She enjoyed taking trips, outdoor sports, and was an avid hunter. (The hunting part is STILL a sore spot with 2 of her sons as she was a better hunter when she was 88 years old then they were at their much younger age) Regardless of what she was doing or where she was, she was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Mary’s children will have a memorial service for her in San Saba, TX at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Jon Bessent Memorial Scholorship Fund, 215 Ester Resa, Lometa, TX 76853.
