Mary Jean Childs

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1: 20 Mary Jean Childs, 78, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at a local hospital in Burleson, Texas. Her memorial service will be held in the fall at Macedonia Cemetery, near Breckenridge. Mary Jean, “Jeannie”, was born May 1, 1942 in Ranger, Texas. She was a cum laude graduate of the University of Texas with B.S. degrees in Math and English. Mary worked for LTV Aerospace as a mainframe programmer/analyst and retired from Northrop Grumman. She enjoyed gardening, sculpting and painting, and her work is in collections around the world. Preceding her in death were her husband, Mike Childs; her son, Guinn Gandy (Cynthia); parents Marshall and Arlene Roberts; brother Bob Roberts. Survivors include her daughter, Karon Jordan (Jon); her granddaughters Kimberley, Laura and Ashley Jordan and Grace Gandy; and her sister, Joan Wilks.
