Mary Lee Logan
November 16, 1934 – July 11, 2025
Mary Lee Bransom Logan passed from this life on July 11, 2025, at Fleurdleys Assisted Living Home in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 90.
Born on November 16, 1934, in Joshua, Texas, Mary was the firstborn of Stella Fae Kilgore and Francis Isaac Bransom. She was raised by her mother, Stella, and stepfather, Elmer Henderson, and her father, Francis Isaac, and stepmother, Nobia Lee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Evert, son-in-law, Peter, and her siblings Pearline, Leo, Irene, Leroy, Lewis, Roy Gene, and Jim.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Glaser; sister, Debra Harris; granddaughters Melissa Logan Shahbaz (Kayvon) and Claudia Renee Spiegel (Charlie); and four great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Joshua High School in 1953. Mary married James Evert Logan on June 6, 1953, in Joshua, Texas. They built a life together in Fort Worth and were married for 45 years until Evert’s passing in 1998. They raised one daughter, Sherri Lynn, born in 1954.
Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Oil Field Rentals in the Continental National Bank Building in downtown Fort Worth — known for its iconic rotating clock. She later earned two associate degrees from Tarrant County College, one in computer science and one in accounting. Curious by nature, she was truly a lifelong learner.
Mary and Evert loved boating, spending time at the lake, and sharing that love with friends and family. Evert taught Mary to water ski before she could swim. They took swimming lessons through the American Red Cross, and eventually earned their Water Safety Instructor credential. They gave back by teaching other adults to swim.
Mary pursued many hobbies. When Sherri became engaged to Peter, a native German, she began to learn the German language. Paintings of hers hang on the walls of friends and family. Stained glass, clay art, Christmas ornaments, and many photos are examples of her creativity she has left behind.
A memorial service will take place on July 31 at Genesis United Methodist Church at 7635 S Hulen, Fort Worth at 4:00pm. Reception will follow. Interment will take place at a later date at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Ft. Worth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fort Worth Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) at texasforthem.org in Mary’s memory.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Fleurdleys Assisted Living and Wings Over Texas Hospice for their loving, compassionate care of our mother and Grandmommy.
