Mary Owens, our loving Mother, Meemaw and Mammaw, was welcomed into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in Fort Worth Texas at the age of 79. Mary was born on June 11, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. Mary worked in the telephone/communications industry for over 40 years. Upon her retirement, she dove into her passion of antiquing, repurposing, and crafting inspired by her travels to the Mohawk Valley area of New York. She had many antique booths and opened a tearoom at The Antique Gallery in Denton, Texas. An opportunity presented itself to manage a newly opened Antique Gallery in Bowie, Texas. During her residence in Bowie, she served as City Councilwoman, was on the Main Street board, helped to initiate the city-wide garage sale, and assisted with many antique shops in the Bowie area. She loved the state of Colorado and resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family that meant so much to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Veona and Paul, sister Carol, brother Max, granddaughter Ashleigh, and her grandparents Max and Agnes. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Debbie and son-in-law Jim; daughter Dawn and son-in-law Wade; son Paul; her seven grandchildren, Cyndi, Casandra, Brandon, Addam, Amanda (Chris), Shannon (Joe), and Tracie (Nic); her five great-grandchildren, Lillie, Vinnie, Samantha, Hoyt, and Eli; and her extended family and longtime friends. A service to honor the life of Mary will be held on Monday, February 20th at 2:00pm at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas. Condolences may be left at lonestarcremations.com
