April 3, 1962 – June 25, 2026

Mary Christine “Chris” Worster, of Odessa, Texas, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Chris was born in McKinney, Texas, and spent most of her childhood in Tennessee, the place she would always consider home. After graduating from high school, she proudly answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Marine Corps. It was there that she met the love of her life, William Worster. They were married in September 1983.

Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially the pages of a good book. Anyone who knew her knew she never traveled without at least two books in hand. Reading wasn’t simply a hobby—it was part of who she was. She shared that love with her children and grandchildren, hoping they too would discover the comfort, adventure, and wisdom found within the pages of a story.

Above all else, Chris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was the family she built and the people she loved so fiercely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue to live on through those who knew her.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Mandi Burnett and Court Nelson of Colorado City, Texas; Todd and Erica Worster of Odessa, Texas; Nikki and Shawn Lambright of Odessa, Texas; Cara and Steve Johnson of Aubrey, Texas; and her daughter of the heart, Trace Turner of Spring Hill, Tennessee.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cheyenne Worster, Paul Lambright, Aydan Nile, Dakota Lambright, all of Odessa, Texas; Zachary and Norma Johnson of Midland, Texas; Jacob Johnson and Nathan Johnson of Denton, Texas; Conner Shahan, Serenity Shahan of Midland, Texas, Todd Worster Jr., Alyssa Joline Worster, Jaylynn Akers, Dylan Akers, Alyssa Wickerlander of Odessa, Texas, and grandchildren of her heart, Austin McComas and Acelyn Overstreet.

Her precious great-grandsons, Jax and Jace Johnson of Midland, Texas, brought endless smiles to her heart.

Chris is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Evens of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, and Lynn and Jim Underwood of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, along with countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Martha and Larry Kline; her beloved grandson, William Worster III; and her sister, Tommy Bowen.

Although our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing Chris is at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and forever in the presence of the Lord she loved. Her memory will live on in every favorite book, every shared laugh, every family gathering, and every life she touched with her gentle heart. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
