Matthew Russell Colton
May 8, 1984 – June 10, 2026

Matthew Russell Colton, 42, passed away on June 10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Born in Tacoma, Washington, on May 8, 1984, to James and Cynthia Colton, Matthew was raised in Port Orchard and Buckley, Washington, alongside his three older siblings.

Known for his sharp mind, swift determination, and warm heart, Matthew graduated early from White River High School in 2003 and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Hotel Hospitality at BYU Hawaii in just three years. His dedication to serving others was anchored by his full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guatemala, where he mastered the Spanish language that he joyfully shared throughout his life.

An adventurous entrepreneur, Matthew lived a dynamic life across Washington, Hawaii, California, Colorado, and Texas. He earned a Six Sigma Black Belt, built a successful real estate career in Hawaii with Keller Williams, operated a licensed massage therapy business in San Francisco, and later established his independent massage practice in Dallas. Wherever he went, Matthew brought infectious energy, whether snowshoeing in Lake Tahoe, hosting game nights, or dancing with his 91-year-old grandmother at the local senior center.

Above all, Matthew was deeply devoted to his family and his dogs. He cherished Sunday dinners, holiday gatherings, and the companionship of his two beloved French Bulldogs, Dora and Pumpkin.

Matthew is survived by his parents, James and Cindy Colton; his brothers, James and Christopher; his sister, Rachel; his grandmother; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
