Matthew Edward Massie

d. August 10, 2024

Matthew (MJ) Edward Massie, 20, was born October 17, 2003 and went home to be with Jesus on August 10, 2024. Matt’s life began in Ft. Worth where he grew up loving church, music, and sports. Matt attended Ft. Worth schools through 3rd grade before moving to Joshua where he completed the remainder of his education. Matt enjoyed being a practical joker, but for those that truly knew him, he was a kind and gentle spirit. Matt loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He had a passion for motorcycles, working on cars, and spending time with family and friends, especially his brother and sister. At the time of his death, Matt was attending Hill College working to obtain his associate degree, specializing in welding. Matt cared and loved big when it came to the people in his life. One of the people he loved most is his brother John. Together, they share an unbreakable bond. Matt is proceeded in death by his grandfathers Charles Massie and wife Vicky, Wayne Baxter, and Cliff Steddum. Grandmothers Mia Georgevich, Betty Rogers, and great grandmother Nelma Byford. Matt is survived by his parents Matthew and Melissa Massie, brother John, sister Rhianna, Grandmothers Tammy Baxter and Glenda Steddum, Uncles Jason Massie, Shane Steddum and wife Shanthi, and Billy Lawrence and wife Misty, and cousins Aunt Amanda Hayes, Mia, Morgan and Ava Massie, Angel and husband Bryan, Toby, Cayenne, Declan, Hannah, Colton, Abigail, and Madilynn, along with countless other family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on October 20, 2024 at Cleburne State Park, Group Barracks at 4:30. Dinner to follow service. It cost $6 per person to get in but we will have someone at the front gate to pay for anyone that wants to come and pay their respects.
