Melvin Wayne Keefer

FORT WORTH — Melvin “Wayne” Keefer, 81, formerly of Holdenville, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday November 24, 2012. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of White Settlement. visitation will be prior to the service. Interment: 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Masonic Lodge #1372 in White Settlement or First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Wayne was born on June 7, 1931 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Charlie and Louise Keefer. He proudley served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Wayne was an avid fisherman , dedicating his trips to “Catching the Big One”. He also enjoyed camping and tending to his animals. Wayne loved spending time with his grandchildren, sharing his childhood memories  with them and would never miss an opportunity to take a ride on his Kubota with grandson, Wyatt. He was a member of First Baptist Church of White Settlement and Masonic Lodge # 1372. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather and he will be greatly missed. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Maxine Jones, brother, Eugene Keefer all of Holdenville and his son, Michael Keefer in 2008. Survivors: wife of 60 years, Patsy; son, Brad Keefer and wife, Lori and Bruce Keefer and wife, Lisa; brother, Jimmy Keefer; sisters, Loretta Cox, Rosie Epperly and Wanda Elkin all of Holdenville. grandchildren, Wesly, Craig, Joshua, Katy, Trina, Megan and Wyatt; great grandchildren, Colby, John and Ashton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
