Melvin Young

Melvin Young, second son of Josie Avant Young and Sam Young, Jr. was born in Crawfordsville, AR on December 9, 1945 and died in Burleson, TX on February 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Pearleena, his son-in-law Chris, his brothers Alford and Richard, and his sisters, Elsie and Novella. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Arletha Hillard, who cared for him every single day in his sickness and helped him transition from this life with dignity, his eldest Melvina, his son Kevin, and his like-a-son Greg. He is also survived by his brother James who married Kim, his sister Mildred who married and loved Leon Johnson until his death, his sister Virgie who married and loved James Howard until his death, his sister Martha, who is married to James T. Young, his brother Sam who is married to Alma, his brother Eugene who is married to Lillian, his sister Linda, and mother of his children, Sadie. His grandchildren Elisha Young, CJ Gray, Miquel Young, Sage Youngstreich, Kylin Young, Xevon Young, Bryce Hillard, Genisis Young, and Kamryn Young mourn his passing, as do his great-children and his friends and family too numerous to name. He will be buried at the foot of his mother’s grave in Pine Rest Cemetery in Lepanto Arkansas at 11:00 on March 2, 2019.
