Lifelong resident of Johnson County, Merle had a strong work ethic, enjoyed antiques, flea markets, cars, the outdoors, and creating.
Merle is survived by his children, Tonya Allison and husband Shane of Bruceville, TX;
Renee Applegate of Belize; Connie Applegate of Lubbock, TX; Robert Applegate and wife Jacquelyn of Summertown, TN; and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.
