Michael Thomas Chrabasz, 60, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. A memorial service will be held at the DFW Veterans Cemetery, on May 29, 2026, at 10:15 am .
Michael was the only child of Frank and Leona Chrabasz of Arlington, Texas. He was born at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up with a wide range of talents and interests. In high school, he was involved in photography and drama, earning recognition for his performance in a talent show. He also enjoyed surfing in Corpus Christi and Maui.
A highly intelligent and gifted individual, Michael later joined the United States Navy, where he worked in avionics on jet fighters. During his service, he received an award for successfully diagnosing and repairing a complex issue on an aircraft that others had been unable to resolve.
Michael was known for his great sense of humor, which he maintained throughout his life. He had a unique personality and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Those who knew him will remember his stories and the way he connected with others.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elizabeth Leona Chrabasz, in 2015, and his father, Frank Chrabasz, in 2024. He is survived by cousins and extended family in Texas and Chicago.
Michael was truly an inspiration to many. His strength, humor, and the way he faced a terrible disease reflected the remarkable person he was. He did not let it ruin his persona and fought it bravely to the end .He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
