Orlando Rayson Jr.
“Lan Jr.”
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Orlando Rayson Jr., affectionately known as “Lan Jr.,” of Shreveport, Louisiana, who departed this life on June 24, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.
Born on February 1, 1958, he was the only child born to Orlando Rayson Sr. and Annie Lee Johnson Rayson. Lan Jr. was a devoted father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was known for his quick wit, unforgettable catchphrases, and the kind of presence that made people feel at ease. Lan Jr. was as real as they come; honest, grounded, and never afraid to tell it like it is.
Lan Jr. lived life on his own terms; with grit, resilience, and a determination that carried him through both trials and triumphs. Though he faced struggles in earlier chapters of his life, he made peace with his past, turned his heart toward healing, and found strength in his renewed faith. In his final years, he walked a path of clarity, love, and spiritual growth, accepting God into his life and finding comfort in that connection.
He is survived by his son, Reundo Rayson Sr., and his wife, Amber Dumas Rayson; his daughter, Kimberly Rayson; his grandsons, Tracy Jackson Jr. and his wife, Carniya Cannon Jackson; Kavon Washington; Reundo Rayson Jr. (“RJ”); Tyler Rayson; and Kaiden Rayson; and his great-grandchildren; Khyren, Kyrii, and Kyliiah Jackson.
He also leaves behind his beloved aunt, Victoria Johnson Green of California, her family, and a host of extended relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando Rayson Sr. and Annie Lee Johnson Rayson; his son, Orlando Rayson III; his uncle, Al Johnson Jr. (Uncle Bubba); and his aunt, Pinkie Lou Johnson of Shreveport, Louisiana.
In accordance with his wishes, Lan Jr. will be cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held at Zion Rest Cemetery on July 25th in Shreveport, beginning at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend, share memories, and celebrate a life full of laughter, love, and legendary one-liners.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Lan Jr.’s spirit will echo in our lives forever.
