Irving, TX – Prescott (Rickey) West, 65 transitioned peacefully from this life on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Irving, TX; with his loving daughter Renetta by his side. On September 18, 1958 in Monroe LA, Prescott was born to Alice Mae West and Lucias Owens. He was raised by his grandmother Dorothy Logwood, in Monroe until age 18 affectionately known as “Madea”. He moved to Danville, IL shortly thereafter where he was reunited with his mother and other siblings. He was preceded in death by his father Lucias Owens, and a brother Cyrus Burton. He leaves to mourn, his mother, Alice Mae Hall, step-father D.W. Hall; four sisters Shelia Burton, Dorothy Cloyd, Grace Hall, and Angela Weaver. Two brothers Donald, and George Hall. Three children who he shares with Mable Gouard, a long-term companion, Antonio Gouard, Sr, Renetta Gouard, and Rickey Gouard, Sr. A daughter Liza West, and a bonus son of Scottie Kirk, he shares with his estranged wife Joan West, and two Best friends we loving acknowledge – Main Hancock, and John Clark. He has 11 grand children, 2 great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly. A “Balloon and Ashes Release” will be scheduled simultaneously at Lone Star Race Track in Grand Prairie, TX; at the Golden Nugget Casino, Danville, IL.; and Horseshoe Indianapolis Casino, Indianapolis, IN Cremation arrangements by Lone Star Cremation.
