Ralph Lewis Bailey
March 08, 1946 – April 29, 2026
Ralph Lewis Bailey was born on March 8, 1946, in Bryan, Texas, to his loving mother, Letha
Burts and father, Delois (D.L.) Bailey. He grew up surrounded by family, alongside his brothers, Charles Bailey Sr. and Carl Modester, and sisters, Lisa Modester, Marsha Modester, and Vicky Burts. Ralph attended Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas, where he completed his education and graduated with pride.
Ralph confessed his faith Christ at an early age. He was a founding member of Greater Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in 1959. Ralph faithfully served as a Deacon at Greater Mount
Pilgrim Baptist Church. He touched many lives with his warm smile, infectious laugh, and
kind-hearted spirit. Following the passing of his beloved mother, Ralph carried her wisdom with him every day, living by the words she often shared: “I love you, Put GOD First.”
At a young age, Ralph was called to serve his country, joining the United States Army. He served honorably during the Vietnam War as a Light Weapons Infantryman. For his courage and sacrifice, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
After returning home from military service, Ralph built a career in audio and visual communications, a field he truly enjoyed and excelled in. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in his craft.
On April 29, 2026, Ralph peacefully entered eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Caron Irving of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Washington of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Sharon Moore of Forney, Texas, Keith Bailey of Lubbock, Texas, Lauren Bailey of Desoto, Texas, and Jasmine Bickel (Connor) of Manhattan, Kansas; his beloved sisters, Marsha Adkins and Shirley Moderator of Dallas, Texas; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close in their hearts.
Ralph is preceded in death by Leatha Burts, Delois (D.L.) Bailey, Ralph Bailey Jr, Vicky Burts, Charles Bailey Sr., Carl Modestor, Lisa Modestor, James Taylor and Charles Taylor.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day..." — 2 Timothy 4:7-8
