Randall Steven Cates

Passed away unexpectedly at Arlington Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 12, 2022. Celebration of life will be announced on social media later. Randall S. Cates was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 27, 1947. He lived his formative years in San Diego, California before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1964. He was survived by his spouse, Teresa Wilson Cates of 54 years, son Steven Ren Cates (Amanda), daughter Ryan Suzanne Golden (David), seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The second love of Randy’s life was his music career that began at the age of 13 and spanned 61 years. He was a two time hall of fame bass player playing with some of the greatest musicians, and toured internationally. He was also a master jeweler for 50 years beginning his career with Chas. Matthews Antiques. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at the Randy Cates Memorial Benefit and Celebration of Life event.
