Rebecca “Grandma Becky” passed away unexpectedly on June 29th, in Gordonville, Texas.
Becky was born on March 30th, 1965, to Frank and Marilyn Wehmanen. Throughout her life she was many things to many people. A wife, a mother, daughter, and a friend – but her greatest joy was being Grandma Becky.
Becky had a special love for her gardens. She took great pride in filling them with patience, care, and love. Her gardens were always full of color and life, a reflection of the warmth she brought to people and places around her. She had a way of making things grow beautifully and her flowers were no exception.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Starkes; her father, Frank Wehmanen; her beloved dog Chassie; and the love of her life, her husband Chuck Daugaard.
Becky is survived by her children, Kayla, Robert, and Sabrina Daugaard; her grandchildren, Raya, Brighton, Lila, Rowan, Victoria, Jamison, Vali and Charlie, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember and miss her dearly.
Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Grandpa Chuck, continuing the love they fought so hard to find their way back to.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15th, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Sanctuary, located at 1028 East 8th Street.
