BURLESON — Rebecca Lovelace Bowyer passed into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2011. Funeral: Noon Tuesday at Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson. Visitation: 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church. Interment: 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery Memorials: In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests donations to Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson, the Parkinson’s Foundation or the American Heart Association. Rebecca was born on February 4, 1945 in the Easter shore of Delaware to Glen and Louise Lovelace.  Having attended schools in Bridgeville and Seaford, Delaware in 1963. Rebecca studied for her business degree at Georgetown Technical and Community College and then on to further business education in Los Angeles, California.  She started her career at E.I. Dupont , Co. and from there went on to own a Merle Norman franchise for 13 years.  She was certified to teach beauty and makeup classes and her ownership led to travel the Eastern cities of Washington, D.C., Philadephia, Atlanta and New York City.  She was for several years the President of the Merchants Association and was the “voice” of radio and TV commercials. Rebecca married Bernard Gene Bowyer in 1981 and in 1986 they relocated to the Fort Worth area, buying a home in Burleson.  Rebecca worked for Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital for almost 20 years and retired as the Volunteer Services Manager.  She had studied and tested for the Certified Volunteer Administrator and was awarded her national honor in Minneapolis, MN in 2003. She was a committed member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson  and it’s Adult Sunday School Class for over 20 years.  Rebecca’s lifetime hobbies were her photography and her yard.  Over the years, Rebecca had won several awards for outstanding achievement in amateur photography.  She always had her camera with her and delighted in taking family and friends pictures and would in  turn surprise them by sending the pictures to them. She was an inspiration to all and a good faithful servant.  She is remembered as a devoted wife, cherished sister, loyal friend and dedicated professional. Survivors: Husband of 29 years, Bernard Gene Bowyer; stepson, B.G. Bowyer Jr.; stepdaughter, Barbara Roberts; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Janie Kellett and husband, Richard; nephews, Allen Kellett and wife, Kim, and Rich Kellett; great-nieces, Shelby and Carly; great-nephew, Chandler Kellett; brothers-in-law, Carroll, Norville, Jack and their families; sister-in-law, Pat Ballard; and a host of other family and dear friends.
