Rebecca Ann Paynter

June 19, 1963 — March 16, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rebecca Ann Paynter, who passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 62.

Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who meant the world to all who knew her. She was known for her kind heart, incredible strength, sense of humor, deep faith, generosity, and even her stubbornness—qualities that made her who she was. Above all, she was a woman who always put her family first. Her love and guidance shaped the lives of everyone around her.

She was born on June 19 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Delores Jean and Robert William Hughes. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to her family, her faith, her work, and helping others. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Her kindness and compassion touched countless lives.

Above all, Becky was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and Gigi. Her greatest joy was her family—sharing stories, laughter, and unconditional love that will forever live on in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Paynter; her children: Robert Hughes and his wife Lacey Hughes, Tiffany Matheny and her husband Jeremy Matheny, Elisha Gannon and her husband Dee Fleuret, and William Paynter; her 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her brother Robert Hughes and wife Leslie Hughes; her sister Rhonda Webber and husband Orland Webber; her stepbrother Brad Hughes and wife April Hughes; along with many extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Robin Walker.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that her love will always live on in each of us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life is being planned. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and honor Becky’s life. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
