Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
To the family and Friend of Robert W Pickens, born March 10, 1947, Torrance, Ca.. We sadly announce the passing of a Joyful and Delightful soul whom we will miss and cherish forever. Bob has touched countless lives and hearts with his Legacy of Joy, humor, laughter, endless quotes, and Football talk. Bob passed away peacefully the Morning of May 16, 2025 with his Partner and Best friend Wendelin Oji by his side.
Bob attended Nevada, Mo High School and then join the Football team which he was so proud of. He then Graduated 1965’. After, his Graduation Bob took an interest in Home Building which he finished his first home at the age of 21yrs. But his true passion was working with Fiberglass while building a unique/custom Design Swimming Pool, he dabbled a bit in still life paintings, he loved dogs immensely, and was raised on a large Turkey farm during his youth. He learn how to ride a horse before his feet could reach the stirrups. Bob was always willing to learn new things at any given time, so we join the local meetup groups for builders & innovators.
Bob was proceeded in death by his Mother and Father Guy H Pickens, WWII Veteran (Myrtle Crowson (Pickens) (Livesay), Nevada High School- English Teacher, Grandparents; Guy W Pickens (Opal G Moore Pickens), Sister Guyla J Hogan, Stepsister Sherry Guylene Pickens. He was also proceeded in death by his Uncle Charles Pickens, Aunt’s Elaine G Pickens, Wanda Pickens, and Edna Pickens.
He is survive by his 3 Sons’ Douglas, Dane, and Joshua Pickens and also 2 Stepsons Chris Case, Steve Case (deceased) along with a host of Granddaughters & Grandsons; Alexis, Joshua Jr, Xavier, Page, Grant, Abrey and Analia. Niece’s Vicki Hogan and Leslie Prince an a host of Great Niece’s and Nephews
Beyond our personal circles, Bob has made a lasting impact by helping the homeless, donating to science & research and participating in the local community events and engagements. Although, Bob has left this life, he has left a lifetime of kindness and generosity for us all to remember.
