Ronald Morris Smith

Ronald Morris Smith, a resident of Lucas, (Plano) passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the age of 76 after a 10-month battle with lung cancer. A service of remembrance will be held July 1, 2023 at Chase Oaks Legacy Campus, Plano, Texas. He was born January 10, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas to Clyde and Virginia Smith. He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife Joni and his sister Cynthia Smith. He is survived by his sons (from a previous marriage to Jamie Willis) Matt (Kera), Cory (Giau) and Tyler, his grandchildren McKenna and Zelda, sisters Sue Coder and Debra Hughey (Jim), and nieces and nephews. Ron was forever grateful for finding Watermark Community Church in Dallas, serving in multiple ministries including Equipped Disciple and Re:generation. He also loved his volunteer work at OurCalling, helping with search and rescue missions, participating in community groups and serving as a leader in OurRecovery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to be made to OurCalling.
