Burleson – Ruth Hughes peacefully joined her heavenly Father on March 14, 2016, at the age of 86. Memorial Service: 10:00am Saturday March 19, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Burleson (317 W. Ellison St.) Visitation: 6-8:00pm Friday March 18, 2016 in the Atrium at the First Baptist Church in Burleson (317 W. Ellison St.) Memorials: Per Ruth’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mission Work at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Ruth was born March 5, 1930 in New York City to Dr. David M. & Ruth Driver. Ruth spent the early years of her life living in Brazil where her father was a foreign missionary and teacher. In 1950, she married Montie Lester Hughes in High Point, North Carolina. Ruth’s family was her life, including her church family. Serving as a dedicated church member for many years and as a Huguley Volunteer later in life, Ruth faithfully maintained a relationship with the Savior until the Lord called her home. Ruth was preceded in death by the love of her life, Lester Hughes. Survivors: son, John M. Hughes and wife, Beth; son, J. Mark Hughes and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Heather Hughes Vines and husband, Eliott; Galan Montie Hughes and wife, Allison; and John Jacob Hughes; great grandchildren, Harrison Craig Hughes and Kennedy Ruth Vines; brother David Miller Driver and wife, Eleanor.
