Sally Vanessa Marshall

d. October 27, 2011

Crowley — Sally Vanessa Marshall, 57, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 am, Friday, November 4, 2011 at Joshua Baptist Church.  Visitation: 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home.  Interment: Crowley Cemetery. Sally was born January 25, 1954 in Fort Worth. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grammy.  In her down time she was always working with her hands.  She enjoyed cross stitch and solving crossword puzzles.  Her last project was a quilt for her granddaughter that the Lord blessed her to see before He brought her home. Above all, Sally was a faithful Christian. She had a special kindness in her eyes and a wonderful laugh which will never be forgotten by those she loved.  Her gentle spirit could be clearly seen as a Kindergarten Sunday school teacher, earning her the name “silly Sally”.  Her musical talent was extraordinary.  She was a gifted pianist who could pick anything out by ear and bring new life to old hymns by composing her own arrangements.  Even through her years of struggling with pain, she still had a desire to serve those around her. Sally loved people and could often be found with a phone to her ear, needle in hand watching a game show with a puppy in her lap.  She was fiercely quick witted, frequently on the second or third pun before we caught the first one. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  “I have an endless hope, not a hopeless end! My exit from earth would be my grandest entrance into heaven! Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal, “Sally Marshall.  Sally was preceded in death by her mother Patsy Anne Martin. Survivors: Sally is survived by her husband, Duane Marshall; daughter, Laura and Jared Huffman; father, Vann and Sue Martin; brother, Billy and Jerri Martin; sister, Susan and Walter Smith; nephews, Grayland Smith, Matthew Smith, and Chase Martin; nieces, Bethany and Joe Baker, Skylar Smith, and Natalie Martin; granddaughter, Violet Huffman.
