Sam Scott Vernon IV passed away on June 17, 2026 in Midlothian, Texas. He was born on September 20, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sam enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time fishing, riding his Harley, listening to music, and sharing stories from his past. Whether recounting adventures, making people laugh, or reminiscing about days gone by, he had a story for nearly every occasion. Those memories will continue to bring smiles to the family and friends who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sister, Regina Berry; his sons, Scott, Les Paul, and Gibson Vernon; his daughter, Lisa Werley; along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

Though he is no longer with us, Sam's spirit lives on in the stories he told, the roads he traveled, and the memories he created with those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
