BURLESON — Sampson “Sam” Lee Ledbetter, 82, son of Thomas and Anice Jay, loving husband of Nancy, went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home. Sam worked until his retirement as a sales rep for Sinclair Refining Co., and later Bryant Feed. After retirement he enjoyed working as a driver for a limo company. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Burleson, was former mayor of Briaroaks and a charter member of their volunteer fire department, and former member of the Bethesda water board. He served his country as a Navy Seabee and retired after 44 years of service. He continued to love and support his Navy brothers until his passing. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Sam leaves a legacy of love and generosity. We will miss his smile, love, and laughter. Survivors: Wife, Nancy; daughter, Amy; son, Todd; granddaughters, Hope and Macy; and sister, Geraldine Brune.
