Sandra Jean Long Jones

Sandra Jean Long Jones, aged 84, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025 in Waxahachie, Texas. Born on August 6, 1941, in Brown County, Texas, to William Virgil Long and Lillie Mae Coffee Long.

Sandra was a kind and gentle soul, known for her love of bright, colorful things and her joy in finding them while shopping. She cherished reminiscing about her younger years and sharing those memories with others. A devoted fan of Judge Judy, Sandra also appreciated the peace and comfort of quiet moments. She found joy in the kitchen, where she was an exceptional cook, delighting family and friends with her delicious meals. She had a special love for ice cream, one of life's simple pleasures she truly enjoyed.

She attended Amarillo High School and married Jerry Ray Jones in January 1959. She was a devoted wife and mother of three, Sandra retired from Mack Trucks Inc. at the Dallas Distribution Center.

She is survived by her children Pamela and Cory Collins, Kelly Jones and fiancée Holly Powell, and Brad Jones; her grandchildren Amber, Ami, and Justin; and seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Collin, Avari, Jaxson, Adalyn, Scarlett, and Maverick. She is also survived by her sister Tonja and husband, Joel Good; nieces Robyn, Traci; nephew Jason; and her great nieces and nephews, Brittany, Blakely, Rudy, Cameron and Cirby.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jerry Ray Jones; parents, Lillie Mae and William Virgil Long; Brother, Lannie Paul Long; and nephews, Christopher Cory Brogdon and Kenneth Shane Long and many other cherished loved ones.

Sandra will be laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, May, Texas 76857. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sandra's memory to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation at https://myasthenia.givevirtuous.org/donate/donation-form.
