(Mansfield, TX) - Our beloved mother and grandmother, Sandra Jean Wilber, passed on April 26, 2025, after a very sudden and brief illness. Sandra was born on 10/09/1945 in Keene, NH. She was 79.

Sandy was the heart of her home and family. She raised her daughter, Sarah, in a supportive and nurturing environment, guiding her to be an independent and caring adult and teaching her how to be an exceptional mother. As a grandmother to Lilian and Emma, she took immense pride in the beautiful young women they have grown to become. To Lilian, you were the paintbrush creating a beautiful painting of love on Lula’s soul. To Emma, Lula is finally flying and soaring through blue skies as she always dreamed. Affectionately known as Lula, Sandy was full of warm hugs and sweet memories; she remembered all her girls’ accomplishments and forgot all their mistakes. They will miss her every day.

Sandy grew up in North Swansey, NH and attended the University of New Hampshire and Florida State University. She ran a psychiatric day-treatment program for over two decades and later turned to teaching. She volunteered daily at Erma Nash Elementary, helping first graders with their reading. Summers were spent in Maine, volunteering at the Ogunquit Playhouse, working at the Sea Bell Gallery, and spending time with family and friends, including annual back-to-school shopping sprees at the Kittery Outlets.

Sandy was known for her hearty laugh, kind heart, and very detailed Christmas card letters. She had a rare gift of connecting with everyone she met; strangers became friends within minutes, drawn in by her warm presence and open heart. Her generous spirit was limitless, and she expressed her love through thoughtful gifts and other acts of kindness. Her laughter echoes in our hearts, a tribute to a love that will last forever.

Sandra is survived by her loving daughter, Sarah Holman and son-in-law Adam Holman; granddaughters, Lilian and Emma Holman; and sister Cindy. She was predeceased by her parents, Ellsworth and Dot and her brother Bob. She will be missed by many relatives and friends.

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held in both Texas and Maine at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Sandy’s name to Buddies Place Cat Rescue of Texas or The Ogunquit Playhouse.
