Sheridan Cook

d. July 27, 2021

Sheridan Granvelline Cook passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 27th, surrounded by family. Sheridan was born in Santa Anna, TX on February 20, 1939 to Granville “Pete” and Sidney Lena Davis. Sheridan was raised in Robert Lee, and later in Colorado City along side her sister, Daisy Nell Davis Black. Sheridan met the love of her life Darrell Ray Cook in Mansfield, Texas. They were married on April 17th, 1973 and celebrated 48 years of wedded bliss. Many of their memories include weekends on the lake with their children. Sheridan enjoyed welcoming large groups of out-of-town family members during hunting season. Mom’s enchiladas and mile high Dagwood sandwiches were always a big hit with hungry hunters! Family was always top priority for Sheridan. Sheridan was a mother of five, a grandmother of thirteen, and a great-grandmother of fifteen. Sheridan taught everyone the importance of honoring God, loving one another, and spending time with those that matter. Sheridan enjoyed bingo, Winstar Casino, as well as breakfast at a local cafe every Sunday with, “The Wild Bunch.” Sheridan is preceded in death by her father, mother, and her son, James Myers. She is survived by her husband: Darrell Cook; her sister: Daisy Nell Black; her son: David Myers; her daughters: Sherry Powell, June Evans, and Dondee Fowler; her stepchildren: Darrell Cook Jr and Peggy Thompson; her thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1pm to 4pm at 3409 County Road 531 Burleson, TX 76028. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
