Plano, Texas – Sherry Whiting died peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2021, with her family by her side. Sherry was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on May 27, 1938, to Naomi Ruth and Clifford E. Mack, one of two children. She is preceded in death by her brother, Clifford C. Mack. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Cindy M. Wilberding; son, Jeffrey D. Whiting; sister-in-law, Jane Mack and nieces Kristin Mack, and Amy Longoria; and her grandchildren, Loran Whiting, Emily Whiting, Grace Wilberding, Foster Whiting, and Henry Wilberding. She will also be missed by many friends including Phyllis and Ruth from Tucson, AZ, and Cheryl Denham. Sherry graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked in the childcare field for most of her life. She loved working with children and felt blessed being around them. She also thoroughly enjoyed reading, watching and following sports of all kinds, and completing word searches. Sherry also loved dogs and cats and had many throughout her life. Sherry lived much of her early adult life in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but then moved for warmer weather in the 1990s to Tucson, Arizona and in her final few years, she spent living closer to family in Plano, Texas.
