Silvia Cortes Restom, 59, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 3:41 pm, in Bedford, Texas. She was born on April 27, 1964, in Ixtlilco el Grande, Morelos, Mexico, to the late Braulio Cortes Sanchez and Sara Pliego Sanchez. Silvia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She married Talat “Michael” Restom in 1991, in Rockwall, Texas. They both moved to Corsicana, Texas in 1994, where they owned a gas station together named 24 Market, and raised their 4 children. She enjoyed talking and laughing with friends and family, and her smile was infectious. She could always easily brighten up anyone’s day with a simple smile. She was a devout Seventh-Day Adventist and a member of Corsicana Seventh-Day Adventist Church. There she became close friends with every member and considered them family. Silvia is survived by her children and grandchildren: Robert Restom, his wife Janelle, and their two sons, James and Dmitri; Christina Restom, her husband Luis, and their daughter Melania; Antonious Restom, his wife Bailee, and their daughter Elyse; and Helina Restom, her husband Assurim, and their daughter Helena and son Josias. She is also survived by her siblings: Gerardo, Baru, Benigno, Joel, Lucia, Hipolito, and Delfino Jaime; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Braulio and Sara; her husband, Talat; and her sister, Antonia. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Corsicana Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3210 North Business 45, Corsicana, Texas, 75110. Light refreshments will be served. There will be no interment to follow. The family would like to recognize and show their deepest appreciation to Dr. Munawar Haider, Bedford Wellness and Rehabilitation, and Holy Savior Hospice for their care and support during Silvia’s final moments. Silvia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a ray of light to those around her and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her humor, kindness, generosity, grace, and courage. She was a true inspiration and a blessing to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
