Aubrey–Stanley, “Stan”, Payton, 67, passed away Sunday, May 26th, 2024 in Denton. Memorial services will be held June 1st at 12:00 pm at Green Valley Baptist Church in Aubrey, located at 9901 E. Sherman Dr., Aubrey, Tx 76227. Stan was known for his deep love for his children, grandchildren, and family. Stan joined his wife, Lorri, on May 26th, 2024 at 4:30 am. They are dancing together again with our Lord. Surviving are his children John Payton 52, of Aubrey, Julie Weise 49, of Abrams, Wi., his grandchildren Katarina 28, of Tracy’s Landing, Maryland, Ava 11, of Abrams, Wisconsin, and Carter 3, of Aubrey, Texas; his sister Rhonda and Dr. Robert Castillo, brother Monte and Diana, sister Laura Payton, and sister Donna Mack. Stan is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Stan worked for the I.R.S for 36 years as computer programming analyst technician. His opinion and knowledge was sought out widely throughout the United States and was considered to be one of the best in his field. After his wife passed in 2018 Stan became “Stan The Comedian” and performed comedy after attending comedy classes at Stir Crazy Comedy Club in Glendale, Az. Stan was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church in Aubrey, Texas and truly loved his church family. Stan also loved his dog Cleo. They traveled the country together by car, RV, and by air flying first class. Stan has left an amazing legacy behind and will always be remembered for the love of his wife, children, family and friends. When Stan went anywhere nobody was allowed to be a stranger. He is missed but he is so much happier with our mother.
