Stephen Elliott Mead

Stephen “Shaggy” Elliott Mead passed surrounded by friends and family in Arlington, Texas, on May 23, 2024. He was born on June 27, 1975, to Gary and Ramona Mead. Stephen was raised in a close-knit family including his mother, father, sister and extended family, aunt, Suzanne Wolfenberger, uncle, Jim Wolfenberger, and cousin, Leila Decker. Stephen lived life to the fullest with passion and was a rebel with a big heart. He had a booming laugh and presence that could light up the room. He was an avid enthusiast for music and movies and was famous for quoting witty lines. He was involved in the service industry and if you were lucky enough to have his services, you were blessed with a great time. He was well known in Arlington as friend to all, including his close friend, LaTrisha Hammer. He is survived by his mother, Ramona Tubb-Mead, grandmother, Ramona Alexander, sister, Michelle Payne, nephew, Cyrus Ashworth, and nieces, Milla Payne and Marlee Payne. He was preceded by his father, Gary D. Mead, grandfather, Donald D. Mead, grandmother, Velma Cole-Mead, and grandfather, Tommy G. Tubb.
