| Steven Edward Hamner, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, proud Marine Corps veteran, and man of quiet faith, passed away on July 29th, 2026. Born on May 25, 1942, in Oklahoma City to Stayton and Jean Hamner, Steve lived a life characterized by humility, service, and steady devotion to his family. As Steve began a new chapter in his life, he found an unexpected joy in meeting Debra. Together, they built a warm and loving home and shared 42 wonderful years of marriage, filled with deep love for his three children, laughter, and the simple joys of family life. A hard worker who never felt the need to boast about his career, Steve worked in logistics and distribution for respected companies throughout his professional life, including TG&Y, Fleming Foods, Michaels, and Neiman Marcus. A proud United States Marine, he carried the values of honor and duty throughout his life. Steve found his faith later in life and became a devout Lutheran and a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Granbury, Texas. Born and raised in Oklahoma, he was also a passionate, lifelong fan of Oklahoma Sooners Football, faithfully following the team through every season. Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Hamner; his three children and their spouses: daughter Sherri Hutson and her husband Mark, daughter Carri Russo and her husband Ronnie, and son Adam Hamner and his wife Lilly; his six grandchildren: Ethan Hutson, Dillion Hutson, Addison Russo, Anthony Russo, Lucas Hamner, and Ayden Russo; and his two great-grandchildren, Eddy and Etta Hutson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stayton and Jean Hamner and beloved grandparents Dr. Llewellyn Wolff & Delaphine Wolff and Stayton Hamner & Maude Hamner. |
