Virginia Gale Bagwill Erwin, 82, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, quiet strength, integrity, and unconditional love.

Virginia was born at home on her family's farm on September 11, 1943, to Paul Dwight Bagwill and Irene Bowers Bagwill. As a young girl, one of her greatest joys was riding her horse across the countryside, a memory she fondly shared throughout the years. She was an exceptional student, graduating with high honors before setting out for Dallas, eager to experience life in the city.

She later married Max, and together they welcomed their daughter, Tracey. Following their divorce, Virginia worked hard. She never expected life to be easy, but she met every challenge with perseverance. Always eager to learn, Virginia returned to college in her fifties and earned a certificate in Medical Transcription. She later joined the Collin County Sheriff's Office, where she worked in jail administration. She loved her work and the people she served alongside, retiring after years of faithful dedication.

After retirement, she settled into a beautiful poolside apartment, in a retirement community that she absolutely loved. She thoroughly enjoyed that chapter of her life.

Virginia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved attending church, writing, shopping, watching murder documentaries, and keeping an immaculate home. Anyone who visited knew there wasn't a cleaner house anywhere.

She had impeccable taste, loved beautiful clothes, jewelry and shoes, and always carried herself with elegance.She also had a witty sense of humor. Virginia was exceptionally intelligent, wise with finances, and an incredibly gifted writer. Although she never published a book, those who knew her believed she certainly could have.

Her friends describe her as a woman of integrity whose character never wavered.
She adored her grandchildren and proudly carried a locket filled with their photographs.
Virginia was a woman of steadfast Christian faith. No matter what life brought her, her trust in God never wavered. During her later years, health challenges, she would say “I know God is there”.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Dwight Bagwill and Irene Bowers Bagwill; bonus mother Myrtie Bagwill; and siblings Linda Webster; and Recil Campbell.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracey and husband Brian, two grown grandchildren, Dylan and fiancée, Sydney, Luke and wife Anya- two young grandchildren Samuel and Grace- and two great-grandchildren, Presley and Aspen. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy, as well as many extended family members, dear friends and relatives.

Virginia's final moments reflected the faith that had defined her entire life. When Tracey gently asked her mother if she was ready to go home Virginia quietly nodded "yes." Her final spoken words were, "Love you too." Shortly thereafter, she lifted her hand, as though reaching toward the angels, who had come to carry her home. She peacefully fell asleep and awakened in the presence of Jesus—the Savior she had loved and trusted all her life.

If there is one truth her family holds without hesitation, it is this: Virginia is home with Jesus.
