Virginia Galbraith

December 6, 1942 — October 30, 2025

Cleburne, TX

Virginia “Ginny” Griffin Galbraith, 82, of Cleburne, TX, went Home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX. Ginny was born on December 6, 1942, in Wilmington, NC, to Leo James Griffin and Lorraine Lucille Farris.

A self-proclaimed “Air Force Brat,” Ginny fondly remembered living in French Morocco in the 1950’s. The family was also stationed in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Massachusetts, where Ginny graduated from Lawrence High School in Falmouth, in 1960. She was an active and vibrant young woman, having played women's basketball and field hockey in high school.

Ginny married Stanley Peter Bazycki in 1962. The couple welcomed four children: Theresa, Stanley Jr, Nanci, and Christopher. Sadly, their marriage ended in divorce.

Ginny found love again and married Richard Daniell Stevens in 1972. They were blessed with two children, Richard and James. Alas, their union was cut short by his untimely death from cancer. Ginny mourned Richard’s death throughout her life.

Ginny graduated from Cape Cod Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

Ginny was not a native Texan but she used to say that she got here as soon as she could, moving to Abilene in 1978.
In 1979, Ginny married Roy Bell Galbraith III. He adopted Christopher, Richard, and James. The couple had one child, Amanda, in 1980.
Ginny worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years.

Ginny enjoyed horseback riding.
She was an excellent dancer and was even selected to be featured on the Boston Bandstand TV show.
She loved learning and was particularly interested in archeology and enjoyed rock and shell collecting.
She loved the ocean and fishing. She loved reading National Geographic magazine and watching the Discovery channel.
Ginny was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting and sketching. One of her paintings won a prize at the University of Houston-Victoria art contest.
She was a poet and even had a few poems published, including a poem she wrote entitled "Night Song" that won a prize at UHV as well.
Ginny was a talented musician (piano and acoustic guitar) and singer (she played and toured with the band "River”). She loved music, especially singer/song writers. She often sung in the church choir and played the piano for worship services.
She was very proud of her Irish heritage and was invited to Trinity College by the Irish government to view the archives.
Ginny was a lifelong lover of cats. She had big cats including an ocelot and an Indian fishing cat. She was a firm believer that cats should have long ostentatious and often ridiculous names.
She was also quite fond of marsupials and other peculiar animals, having kept ferrets, a pet squirrel and a pet skunk. She loved living on a farm and took joy in naming the baby goats each spring.
Ginny was baptized at Henderson Street Baptist Church on April 24, 2019. She said she did this because she wanted to publicly confess her inward faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She read her Bible daily, sometimes for hours at a time.

Ginny is proceeded in death by husbands Richard Stevens & Roy Galbraith, and her parents.

Ginny is survived by her only brother: James Kenneth Griffin; children: Theresa (Dwight) Bazycki Shreve, Stanley (Marlo) Bazycki Jr, Nanci-Marie Diane (Kevin) Bazycki Murrell, Christopher Roy (Jill) Galbraith, Richard Steven (Amanda) Galbraith, James Daniell Galbraith, Amanda René (Matthew) Galbraith-Andrasko; grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Wade, Miranda (Christopher) Huepers, Anthony (Amber) Hernandez, Brianne (Michael) Garske, Noah Bazycki, Brittany Witt, Jacob (Abby) Galbraith, Mica Bazycki, Joshua Galbraith, Emily (Jonathan) Howell, Chloe Stevens, Sarah (Nolan) Price, Nathan Abramoski, Matthew Galbraith, Nathan (Isabelle) Galbraith, Jacob Abramoski, Zula Stevens, Isabella Andrasko, Andrew Merck, Maddalyn Andrasko, and Rachel Galbraith; great grandchildren: Rebekah Howell, Jaxon Howell, Zyron Stevens, Evelyn Howell, Ava Garske, Zyola Stevens, Scarlet Howell, Aurora Price, Emery Garske, Yamaliz Stevens, Hudson Howell, Strider Price, and Sterling Price.

She asked to be cremated and tasked her children with scattering her ashes at places that held significance to her including Big Bend National Park, Cape Cod, and the Bob Hall Pier.
