Wanda Lee Derbes

February 16, 1942 — September 16, 2025

Wanda Lee Derbes was a caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 16, 2025 at the age of 83.

She was born to Herbert Earnest Fontenot, and Elsie Rougeau, February 16, 1942. After graduating high school, she married George Joseph Derbes, who served in the Air force in Wisconsin and abroad, in the Philippines. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Faye Fontenot and only daughter, Michelle Marie Derbes Stang.

Wanda was very proud of her Cajun culture, she was a devoted, mother and friend remembered for her quick witted humor, strength and kindness. She enjoyed gardening, baking and loved making delicious Cajun meals. Wanda, was thoughtful and kind and will be missed by all who knew her.
