Wanda Lou Ashton was born and raised in Grapevine, TX to mother Audrey and father J.D. Stephens. She graduated from Grapevine High School and spent most of her adult career as an Escrow Officer for Real Estate and Title Services. She later spent several years working in Keller Public Schools and school libraries. She met the love of her life at a wedding ceremony of mutual friends and had a long and active marriage of 43 years. Together, they both pursued a strong passion for rescue and foster of animals serving with various animal rescue groups. She rescued multiple animals without hesitation, choosing those that needed a home the most, as her pets. Her love of animals was only surpassed by her love of family. She often enjoyed searching out unique items, shopping antiques stores and personal time with flowering plants and gardening outdoors. She departed this life too soon at age of 65 and will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her younger sister, Brenda. She is survived by husband Keith and daughter Jamie (Mike) and her two dogs. A private family memorial is scheduled and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held with details decided at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to “Forgotten Tails Animal Rescue” (www.forgottentails.weebly.com). “Unable are the loved to die. For Love is Immortality”
